COVID-19 Precautions

We will observe the following guidelines during Community League play:

Do Not Play if You:
  • Exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19 (e.g., fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell).
  • Have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 or has exhibited COVID19-like symptoms in the last 14 days (e.g., within 6 feet of someone who has COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more, provided care to someone sick with the virus, had direct physical contact with a person with COVID-19).
  • Are a vulnerable individual with a compromised immune system or serious underlying health conditions. Please consult with your doctor if you are unsure whether you fit within these categories.
  • Have been in large group gatherings which generally encompass more than 10 people (airplanes, casinos, bars, etc.) in the last 14 days.

Note: The 14-day period set forth above may be reduced to either 10 or 7 days provided:
  • 10 Days - you have not been tested, but exhibit no symptoms during this time frame.
  • 7 Days - you exhibit no symptoms AND have received a COVID-19 test on day 5 or later AND it returned a negative test result.

In all situations, please err on the side of not playing if any of the above conditions exist so as to best protect yourself and fellow club members.

Returning to Play after Being Tested or Exhibiting Symptoms (CDC Recommendations):
 1. If you have had a Positive COVID-19 test, plus symptoms:
  • wait 10 days since symptoms first appeared, AND
  • wait 24 hours with no fever, without fever-reducing medications, AND
  • other symptoms of COVID-19 have improved. (Note: Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery, but need not delay your return to play.)

 2. If you have had a Positive COVID-19 test, without symptoms:
  • wait until 10 days have passed since test.

 3. If you think you have COVID-19 symptoms, but have not been tested

On-Field Precautions:
  • Maintain social distancing (6 feet). No more than 2 people in the dugout. Catcher and umpire shall position themselves during a player's at-bat to allow for social distancing.
  • Masks/gaiters are required in team areas when your team is at bat (e.g., dugouts & surrounding areas), optional for batters, base runners, and base coaches.
  • Softballs will be wiped down in-between team at bats.
  • Club bats and bat warmer boxes will be available but players must wipe down bats before/after using.
  • Consider wearing batting gloves throughout the game.
  • Bring your own sanitizing materials.
  • Clean your equipment with antibacterial wipes before and after use.
  • Consider whether you’d prefer to drive to the field yourself as an alternative to carpooling.

THE ABOVE GUIDELINES ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE EXHAUSTIVE, BUT RATHER REPRESENT COMMON SENSE PRECAUTIONS TO ASSIST IN LIMITING THE RISK TO CLUB MEMBERS OF CONTRACTING COVID-19.
